Digital Visualization Lab
GIU, 2025
About
The Digital Visualization Lab is an immersive studio that teaches students how to transform architectural ideas into fully realized visual worlds. The course blends technical skill-building with storytelling, guiding students from raw geometry to polished, atmospheric architectural narratives.
The journey begins with each student modeling a Case Study House in Rhino, then crafting a persona and designing a parametric add-on or “parasite” that reimagines the dwelling for a new kind of user. Students then move into detailed digital workflows: modeling custom elements in 3ds Max, rendering interiors with Corona, and producing cinematic exterior scenes in Lumion.
By the end of the course, students learn not just how to visualize architecture, but how to communicate mood, experience, and identity through form, light, and space—pulling everything together into a final, highly polished presentation.
The Digital Visualization Lab turns students into visual storytellers, bridging design and emotion, precision and imagination, realism and ambition.
